Plastic Studio

Plastic Studio is a design and materials project that transforms plastic waste into new, high-value products. Our work focuses on underutilized waste streams, such as uncontaminated medical plastics like expired masks. Through sorting, shredding, and thermal forming, we create new sheet materials that are used to manufacture furniture and everyday objects.

At Kaiserhaus OF GOODS, we showcase selected products made from locally recycled plastic. They demonstrate what a circular economy looks like in practice: materials remain in circulation, transportation distances are reduced, and waste becomes a resource.

Our approach combines design, craftsmanship, and experimental material development. Our goal is to make recycling visible and to create new applications for recycled plastics. By designing products to be as single-material as possible, they can be returned to the recycling loop at the end of their life cycle.
