Most everyday products today aren’t designed with the end in mind—eventually, they become waste. QWSTION was founded in Switzerland in 2008 to challenge the way products are designed, manufactured, and used. The result is fully recyclable bags—made from plants instead of plastic.

By focusing the creative process on material research, the team developed Bananatex®—a durable, weather-resistant, and 100% biodegradable textile made from sustainably grown banana plants. The material is freely available to anyone looking to replace plastics with plant-based alternatives. As a certified B Corporation, QWSTION aims to promote collaboration and contribute to a positive future.

Using this revolutionary fabric as a foundation, QWSTION launched its first products in 2018, which were designed in strict accordance with Cradle to Cradle principles, with a focus on biological cycles. This approach has shaped all new developments ever since.
